Biography

[edit]

Hossen studied in Sofia, Vienna and Paris. At the age of eight he made his debut as a soloist with the orchestra.[1] Among his teachers are Michael Frischenschlager and Gérard Poulet.

Source research of Niccolò Paganini's works is the primary subject of Hossen's musical and creative endeavours.[2] He has played and recorded all four complete Paganini's violin concertos[3] in original version, using the "Scordatura del violino" in the first violin concerto[4]. He recorded the world premiere of Paganini's most performed pieces for violin and orchestra in the original version: "Le Streghe", "I Palpiti", "Non più mesta" and of the "Religiosa introduzione al Rondò del Campanello" (Dynamic, 2017).[5] He is also a promoter and performer of the works of some great Bulgarian contemporary composers such as Marin Goleminov and Pancho Vladigerov.[6]

He has performed as a soloist with world renowned orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra[7], the Wiener Symphoniker[8], the "I Virtuosi del Teatro alla Scala"[9], the "I Solisti Veneti"[10], the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra[1].

Hossen has participated as a musical guest to the TEDx event in (Sofia) TEDxVitosha on 27 January 2018 dedicated to "Happy People".[11]

Since 2019, he is artistic director of the oldest music festival in Bulgaria, the "Varna Summer International Music Festival"[12]
